Liz and Scott have over 25 years of experience working as a team in real estate.
They began their real estate careers as property managers in Santa Cruz California, managing farm and mix use commercial and residential properties. This piqued their interest in real estate and in the early 90’s they obtained their sales associate licenses and real estate appraiser licenses. During this time, they started their own appraisal firm, Hart, Behrens & Associates, covering the Monterey Bay/Santa Cruz area.
After many busy years in real estate, in 2003 they embarked on a sabbatical. Being lifelong surfers, they decided to purchasing a sail boat and spend more time on the ocean. Ocean Lady, a 50 foot sail boat, took them on an adventure, sailing the Pacific Ocean in California, Mexico and Central America.
In 2007 they arrived in Nicaragua Central America and fell in love with the country, the culture and the surf. They swallowed the anchor, sold Ocean Lady and purchased land in the jungle, in Nicaragua. So began another chapter in real estate. From navigating the complexities of buying land in a foreign country, to becoming general contractors, building an off the grid Eco-lodge literally from the ground up.
In 2019 they sold the Rancho in Nicaragua and returned to the US where they worked doing commercial property inspections covering the Southwestern United States.
Missing time on the ocean they moved to Florida where Scott grew up and learned to surf.
Obtaining their Florida Sales Associates Licenses, they settled in New Smyrna Beach, enjoying the small-town beach life.
